Petra Akrap is currently studying piano at the Academy of Music in Zagreb with her mentor Katarina Krpan in the fifth year. She finished her primary music education at the Jakov Gotovac music school in Sinj and her secondary education at the Josip Hatze music school in Split under professor Helena Bojić. Also, she received her general education at the Marko Marulić 4th gymnasium in Split. She frequently performs as a soloist, as a member of chamber ensembles, and as a soloist with an orchestra, collaborating with conductors Tomislav Fačini, Tonči Bilić, Berislav Šipuš, Gianna Fratta, and Richard Rosenberg. In 2019 she performed with the orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Split, in 2021 with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, in 2022 with the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Zagreb and in 2023 with the Zagreb Soloists. In June 2023, at the invitation of conductor Richard Rosenberg, she performed Dana Suesse's piano concerto for two pianos and orchestra alongside pianist Katarina Nera Biondić and the National Music Festival orchestra in Chestertown, United States of America. In January and February this year she performed at Zorin Dom in Karlovac and the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, performing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in collaboration with pianist Viktor Rafajlovski, the biNg baNg percussion ensemble, the Ivan Goran Kovačić Academic Choir and conductor Ivan Šćepanović. In July, she also performed Carmina Burana as part of the 70th Split Summer Festival, with the orchestra and choir of the Croatian National Theatre conducted by maestro Ivan Hut. She has won the highest awards at competitions of the Croatian Society of Music and Dance Educators, the first and special award for the best performance of a Croatian composer at the 23rd International Competition Daleki Akordi, the first prize at the online International Piano Competition Mozart, the first prize at the Davorin Jenko International Piano Competition and the first prize at Humberto Quagliata piano competition in Italy. In the academic year 2020/2021, she received the Rector's Award for the premiere performance of Sculptures for piano and orchestra by Šimun Matišić and in April this year she received the Croatian Composers' Society Award for the best-performed work by a Croatian author at the 57th Young Musicians' Platform Darko Lukić. In addition to Sculptures, she has premiered Tomislav Krobot's Concertino for piano and strings, Božidar Vlašić's Invocations and Provocations for two pianos and percussion, Berislav Šipuš's Aria Memoria, and Sara Jakopović's Impromptu for solo piano. She has collaborated with the Cantus Ensemble and the Academy of Music's New Music Ensemble – Asmangu. She participated in masterclasses with Vladimir Krpan, Ruben Dalibaltayan, Massimiliano Ferrati, Kemal Gekić, Yuri Kot, Pedja Mužijević, Eugene Choi, Igor Lazko, Andrey Pisarev, Antonio Di Cristofano, Nataša Veljković.
